It’s all about the activities that help to boost your spirit!

Hey guys! It’s been awhile but I am super excited to be blogging today!

Being back at school has been absolutely amazing, but super busy. I love all my classes and the professors here and fabulous. They really make all the classes wonderful and they make me want to always go to class.

Along with having amazing teachers, SUU has amazing programs and activities that are always available for the students enjoyment. No matter what age you are. We all just got done with an amazingly fun Welcome Back week that made your spirits high and really started the year off with a bang. Everything from basketball games to the Bi-Annual Casino night that Weston wrote about so very well. I’m serious when I say that SUU really knows how to get their students engaged in more than just academia. We all should realize that yes, we come to college to get an education and we are here spending our money to learn. Don’t let school get in the way of your education, but I think that it is also important to realize that it’s ok to do fun things and go out and have the full “college experience” Luckily, SUU provides both an amazing education and a great atmosphere to have fun in. 

Along with the university, SUU’s University Housing is a fantastic place to live and have the same college experience. Housing has a board of students living on campus that make up what is called The Resident Hall Association. They’re job is basically the same as a student body officer’s would be in high school. They have a whole bunch of things that they hold for students and residents in housing. This weekend on Friday they are having an annual dance that always makes my entire night. Let me preface this with saying that I am a huge Harry Potter nerd. I love it!! I am that annoying kid in the front row that held their hand up when everyone on the screen did when *spoiler alert* Dumbledore died. Anyway, I always get really excited when I see advertisements like this pop up around housing. 

This dance and activity is something I look forward to all semester long. It is usually held in December, but due to changes and things coming up it was moved to January. It’s a night full of magic and all things related to Harry Potter. Students are asked to dress in formal gowns and suits and everyone around just has an amazing time. It’s things like this that make being a stressed college student happy and worth it. 

You may be able to find some other place that offers either or on academic and a balanced good atmosphere, but only here at SUU will you find how awesome it is to excel in all things school related and still have a social life with the wonderful university provided activities that they always have going on.
